Another blogger?

Well, in full transparency, I didn’t mean to become a blogger. I decided to launch my site as an online presence for future speaking or job opportunities; however, I realized there was a gap in content for young women leaders.

I have had the opportunity to work with incredible and selfless people that shaped who I am today, but not everyone has the same access to such resources. I want to help create an environment that is conducive to women showing up in their full strength.

Change for women is happening. It is wonderful that society is realizing the value that we add in senior roles, but are we fully preparing and equipping future leaders? If we have seen mostly male leaders, how will we know how to lead from our uniqueness as women? Of course, there are universal characteristics that apply to all leaders, but it has been shown that women do not lead the same way that men do. There is power in sharing the process of achieving success and this blog will be my vehicle to do so on a larger scale.

I also aim to be a voice of unity. Most of my leaders are men and they have empowered and uplifted me more times than not. To me, the pro-women movement is not anti-men. It is one that strives to achieve equality, so women have the same chance as men to be heard and to compete for critical roles. This will make the world a better place and it will make our corporations more successful and differentiated. (A big welcome to the men reading – we need you on this journey too!)

Lastly, I believe that once more women are thriving in their lives and careers, they will be shining examples to other girls and women around them, who will then be more confident when they show up in their own sphere of influence. We have a lot of societal problems to solve like gender inequality, food insecurity, and human trafficking. Corporate leaders can be major agents of change in these plights. The more hands we put to the plow, the more expedient and sustainable our progress will be.

I can’t thank you enough for joining me here. My heart’s desire is that this will be a place of inspiration, encouragement, and respite for you when facing new challenges or when your soul is weary.

Sending you courage and love,

Elisa
